Well, there should be a screw just past halfway down on the gearknob facing the console. Unscrew it, and just pull off the knob.

Sorry for taking the piss if english isn't your first language. BUT You need to learn to speak.

How to get an auto knob off if it is a newer one.

Need 2 very thin screwdrivers one from the front to leaver the shift button up whilst the other one goes down the side of the button to unhook the plastic latch.

under there is a spring screwed on to a plastic plug that rest atop the shift plunger. Just pull these two carefully upward and off.

Under there is a M12 (long socket needed) nut that you just undo with your ratchet and then done the whole thing comes off.

This leaves you with about 80mm of chromed shift shaft and 16mm of double sliced thread and 50mm of plastic plunger.

I have made a design, but still testing, to allow you to put any aftermarket shift knob onto this arrangement and have a workable shifter, pushing down on the whole knob to change from P->R-N-D and N->R->P so as you can see you only need to push down when changeing into Reverse and into Park. Reverse to Drive you do not need to push down.

Hey that sounds good, will it work for older model shifters aswell? I have an old boxy heap of **** and want to put an aftermarket knob on it.
