Have you recently changed tyres? perhaps the wheel weights have come off. I would first make sure your wheels are balanced, then go from there.

I had that same kind of problem to when I lowered my car. When I had the 60mm lowered springs in the front of my car (now 40mm lowered) it caused a bad vibration on acceleration, especially when turning and then accelerating. Apparently its due to incorrect camber, the lowered springs cause this, the only proper way to fix this is a camber/castor kit which allows you to adjust the camber. But then again thats if that is the problem. Have you checked your engine mounts? Car idel fine, ie: not missing?

any new developments big dan? cos this problem sounds all to familar.
mine has got so bad at one time, that i swore a wheel was about to fall off
possible causes ive heard:
lowerd springs = caster / camber
17's with diff off-set
lower control arm bushes worn (any control arm bushes for that matter)
tyres stuffed
output shaft in gear box
CV joints
drive shafts bent/ unblanaced
ALL OF THE ABOVE???
big dan can you stop yours from shakin by backin off the throttle? , just to a coast (ie, no load on anything), also the fact that it takes a few minutes (upto 30 minutes sometimes) to start is what stumps everyone i talk to.
every day i think harder and harder about driving it into the river.

mines TE v6 manual toocept its been lowerd slightly aboot 30 - 45mm
and has 17 in mags with 235/45 tyres
thats about all that would have any impact on drivability

it worked out to be my right my left hand drive shaft thier are big ball bearing and they are only ment to flex so much well mine were flexing back on to the shaft (not ment to) so it needed a new left hand drive shaft

Also check your engine mounts, when really worn they cause the whole engine to shudder as they can no longer dampen properlly. This could lead to further drivline problems as the strain on those components increases due to the shuddering

yup, drive shaft was the culprit for me.
my drivers side inner cv joint was totally rooted
so a whole new exchange drive shaft i got, plus i got the left hand side cv joints repackd with grease and new boots. all up i went to cv specailist and it cost me $240 mind you thats trade price (stuff goin to mitsu dealer woulda cost me 3 times that probably LOL )
thanks everyone for the posts and thanks DAN for having the same problem before me lol
