Hey everyone
Can anyone tell me if the factory stero in my TJ Executive has the RCA outputs on the back that I can connect my amp into? I'm putting my system from my old car over this weekend, but I'd like to keep the factory unit if I can, cause it has an AUX input and my Alpine unit doesn't. Don't wanna try getting it out if there's no point just yet.

Factory stereo does not, however you could use a Line output converter, available at most car shops (ie. autobarn, supercheap, repco).

I'd just get a new deck with RCA out..a convertor will set you back $50 and a new deck is $99 for a kenwood or something, with MP3 playback and front aux ....easy to install too, if you gotta put the deck out may as well replace it, that way you get remote trigger for the amp turn on too!!

Man, decks must be cheap over east. My entire system is Alpine and for a stock standard cd player with aux (no mp3 support) i've seen nothing cheaper than $200.

Thats because its alpine and not kenwood/sony cheap units. I think thats one thing that alpine dont do is cheap units in Aus.

I replaced the factory head unit on my TW with a $129 Pioneer, and the sound quality, even with the same speakers, was much better.

Same, I replaced my stock HU with a $169 JVC. But I also replaced the front and rear speakers with $100 6.5" fusions and rear with $70 Kenwood 6x9s. Sounded heaps better esp with my kenwood sub pounding away in the boot :P.
