Hey Guys, I just started looking for a new car and the TR magna's have really caught my eye. The only problem is being a ford boy I have no idea about what to look for and what to look out for. I've been looking at a 94 v6 manual, for $4200 with 159,000 on the clock it seems to be really well looked after. Is there anything thing I should know about this model? is this a good price? whats the milage like?. I've heard wispers that the timing belt is a problem are there any other things to look out for? Any help that you guys can offer would be great.

Hi Mate, what state are you.
The TR V6 manual is a great find. Valve stem seals, rear main oil seals and noisy lash adjusters are the 3 main "engine" areas/
Check for rust around the tail lights, is rare however dies happen.
Std checks, cv boots, rack boots, ball joints, tie rod's etc, that is about it really.

Thanks for that info man. I'll make sure I check those out before I buy. To answer your question I'm up in Queensland. Thanks once again.

If all those things Madmagna pointed out check out, then that'd be a great buy.

Look for rust along the top of the windscreen. This is a ***** to fix trust me!
To spot it check the headliner where it joins the windscreen.
Look for tappet noise and any smoke from the engine (water vapor excluded) and also when cold check the oil for water contamination. Check radiator for a cracked head (uy opening the radiator cap whilst cold and staing the engine) if it bubbles everywhere run away.
Anything else is a cheap easy fix aka Water pumps CV's etc.

The V6's didn't have trouble with the timing chain i dont think, its mainly on the 4's. Also a 1994 V6 sounds more like a TS, i thought TR stopped in '93.

Nah he's alright, the TR 3.0L continued in 94 and then in 95 they moved exclusively to TS's.
