Hi guys,
I thought maybe it's about time I fixed the problem that I listed in this thread's title. Ever we replaced the belts on my TL back in December 2009, occasionally when I rev the engine a bit (above 4000 rpm area) it makes a loud screeching sound and sometimes when I put the steering on full lock. I also get a bit of a groan when I first start it up in the morning at low revs and idle. It all pointed to the belts but me and dad checked them and they seem tight enough but do the belts on the 6G74 engines have to be super tight or something? Or is it something else like a bearing or a pulley?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like they need more tension especially if they screech at high RPM. Yeh they need to be tight, just don't overdo it. You could always just incrementallly increase the tension a bit at a time until it goes away. My PS is groaning when cold and I reckonit will be the belt also, too lazy to get under the car to do it. PIA.
