Noticed tonight that a few of the demister lines are broken and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the repair kits you get from supercheap or autobarn?? The stuff that you paint on.
If you've used it, did it work? And could you notice where you put it afterwards? Like does it stand out?
Thanks heaps!!
I've used the stuff before with positive results - my breaks were towards the edges of the window and not really prominent.....once the paint has dried, and you know it is conducting power, you can then trim it with a razor blade so it isn't noticeable if you wish.
Would putting masking tape either side, painting, and peeling it off while its wet so you don't take off all the paint work?
Dunno - peeling the masking tape off at the correct time would possibly be critical - I know that if you move a soldered join before the solder has set/hardened, the join loses strength and goes crystalline.
I think the repair kits are a kind of copper powder paint type thing, not solder?

There is silver paint you buy that is made for this job and you can buy it from jaycar :)

Correct - the point I was trying to make was that possibly the 'paint' is similar to solder and should not be disturbed till set otherwise it may not conduct electricity....but that's only guessing.

Used it before, 3M magic tape worked fine.
