I'm pretty sure you have to change over the entire dash loom, as well as wire some things into the heater/aircon that will sense the temperatures and stuff like that.
I know that Mal chargers $250 for a complete conversion kit, perhaps have a look at all of the parts that, that kit includes?

Im putting it in my TF soon, I have all the bits. This is what im going to use ,KF ei (xi wont work as it uses the ETACS system) dash wiring loom and cluster loom, climate control unit with the surround, the 3 climate control actuators, breathing tube, climate control fan transistor, fan relay, water temp sensor, sun light sensor, and outside temp sensor. Also there are 2 yellow wires that you need to cut and solder from you heater box into the verada wiring loom.

Magna_VRX_turbo can use the search function lol, just kidding

I have covered the conversion on a few occasions, if yo have a TE or F you need the parts from one of these cars, if oyu have H you need H and if you have J series, you need J series parts. You can mix and match a little bit but is too complicated to really go into in a forum post.

So OP, you have a a TE/F, you will need the above parts from same, you do not have to do the outside temp sensor if you dont want to, is more just a wank factor so you can get the outsde temp, system will work find without it

And yes, Rightnow is correct, I charge $250.00 for a complete kit, the kit will then allow you to add other parts simply such as cruise control, elec windows etc etc

Might shoot you a PM soon Mal (once i work out funds), this is all good info.

I really want it so i can buy proper woodgrain (not the stick on crap) but now thinking it would be a fun project.

I have a KF Verada arriving tomorrow morning, has the Climate you need in this car

Is a dash out job but at the same time is not that bad to do
