Guys, attached is the quote i've just been provided by a local
Just under $2,000 but it seems extremely excessive...
I'm not sure on this Hydraulic Tensioner for the timing belt, will it be needed?
Also I had all my fluids flushed last service, bar the oil anything else that I should have re-done fluid wise? I'm just trying to get this quote down to something reasonable.

Very excessive, perhaps you shoudl bring the car here instead, the quote is not complete in the pic but having said that, on all the parts and services I can do better, the complete 100k service is $1100ish with all parts and labour, notice you have rear brakes there, that will not add another $1100 that is for sure lol
If you had fluids done last service, then you are simply up for spark plugs, timing belt and service, this is even cheaper again.....

$2K for a 100,000 km service? *Laughs hysterically*
No way! Get Mal to do it, at least you will know it has been done properly.

Remember that a workshop has overheads, these are fairly standard larger workshop prices. Has anyone had a quote on IT work of late, these guys charge more than brain surgens and only sit behind a screen with a $20 keyboard and mouse lol
They have leasees sometimes worth tens of thousands of dollars, a single hoist is over 6 grand, then there are wages, insurance etc etc and then at the end of this the owner needs to earn a wage as well
I am sure if you went to a lot of workshops that some of the prices listed are fairly common, my prices are lower only due to my unique situation with my workspace, once I move on from here my prices will most likely have to increase as well

Can't argue with that. I'm an IT security consultant and I think I get charged out at something like $260 an hour (no, I don't get paid that!!). IT consulting or even software development is a freakin' bizarre industry - there are relatively few capital expenses required to "get in" to the industry. All you need is a good brain and a committment to quality work.
But just like any industry, there aren't many folks with either. I count myself lucky to have both.
I also count myself lucky that Malcolm has both too. I need a Malcolm clone who works on late model Fords now though. :-(

$140 is standard price for a coolant flush service including new coolant at most dealerships. Though I would expect a much more competitive price from smaller workshops.

I just had a 90,000km service done at Paul Wakeling (NSW) on my TL Magna for $750 inc timing belt.
