Hi all, I put in my H/u and amp and im after some info please. The h/u only has 1 set of rca and the amps a 4ch so I split the L into the 2 L channels and the same for the right. the subs are bridged off the right and my splits are in the 2 left channels. now my fader and balance are outa whack and im thinking maybe ive wired wrong. I also have the factory 6x9 off the deck to be upgraded later to better speakers. also when I turn up da bass the amp cuts into safety and im wondering if a cap will fix thiss. cheers shaun
Sounds to me like something is going horribly wrong somewhere. Something which an additional cap will not fix. Could you tell us what sort of amplifier it is?
Also tell us what resistance the voice coil(s) is/are on the sub.

Also now that you have joined your left and right channels by bridging with the sub - you won't be able to adjust left to right from the H/U - as the sub requires both channels ;)
But yeah - cap won't fix your issues - answer the queries by FHRX, and we will see if we can help.

This happened to me aswell when i used 2 sets of RCA Spliters. What id done wrong is at the amp id plugged the RCA's in wrong I had 2 "Lefts" for my splits and 2 "rights" for my Sub.
Take a look at the thread i got my answer from http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7100

single rca's suck big time, too much splitting etc and the more stuff you try to run off the hu the more control you lose, i tried running 4 speakers and a sub of 1 set of rca's NOT GOOD, i took the hu back and got one with three rca outputs.......an absolute pleasure to install and all the controll in the world.

Not meaning to promote my thread, but have you condidered Line Out Converters to gain more RCA's?

The h/u only has 1 set of rca and the amps a 4ch so I split the L into the 2 L channels and the same for the right. the subs are bridged off the right and my splits are in the 2 left channels.
Can I just clarify something here:
Are you saying that you took the Left RCA output from your HU and split that into the two left channels of your amp, and then those two channels are powering your splits? And then you took the Right RCA output from your HU and split that into the two right channels of your amp which are powering your splits?
If so, then you've got the speaker connections around the wrong way. You should connect your splits up to one left and one right channel respectively, and then bridge the sub across the other two left and right channels.
