Gday,
I'm wondering if anyway can tell me the values needed when aligning my TPS on my 98 TF 3 litre V6. In my haynes work shop manual it states to back probe terminals 2 and 4, 2 being +ve and 4 being -ve, with the voltage being 0.5-1.0 at closed throttle (ignition switch ON) and then 4.5-5.0 volts at WOT. Although 0.5-1.0 is a fairly large range, I was wondering if there was an exact value that is said to be the correct value. So far I've discovered that the closer to 0.5 at closed throttle the better the car seems to idle, I tried setting it at approx 0.75, half way between, and the idle was very erratic. Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

Not sure on the exact effects on auto trans shifts, but from what I can put together it can lead to mis-timed and harsh shifting. Apparently it also effects your fuel injection system. I aligned mine properly a week ago, and I've found an improvement in fuel economy already, gone from about 15 litres/100 km to 13litres/100 km, and so far I havn't had any of the occasional really harsh shifts that I used to have from time to time, although its only early days yet, and I'd still like to know wether or not I have it set to exactly the right value, or even if there is an exact right value, or even if its different from car to car.

millivolts?
Thats the first thing that came into my head to, but nah thats too easy. Although if 625 mv equals 0.6 volts then that would actually make sense.

.5 volt= 500mV (millivolts)
1 volt= 1000mv
1 bird in the hand= 2 in the bush
1 commo will never equal 1 Magna

So does any one know if that means that 625 mv would be the optimum, or would it be car specific, and vary from 6g72 to 6g74? Wheres dave when you need him.
