i have 2004 tl awd and would like to fit pumpup rear shockers [just for towing boat] has anyone done this? any recommendations ?thanks peter

the only pump up rear shocks I've seen available are for wagons as they dont use a strut style rear end like in the sedans. You could try a standard height rear spring from Kings or Dobinsons as they should be a stiffer spring rate than standard & help reduce rear end sagging. You could also try contacting these guys:

I thought that aire shocks were a thing of the past......if towing is the go just go heavier rate springs.....

if they don't do a specific kit something will work for you.
shocks won't do much, springs hold it up, shocks hold it down.

Monroe make air for the back end of the wagon but not the sedan, as far as I know there are no available rear shock or damper avail for the sedan that will give you a pump up option but I can do some checking

I have done a few similar situations where people are towing camper trailers or boats, these have all been wagons and even the std kings did not sort out the issue completely, the wagons all got pump up with exception to 1 where we used bags that are designed speficically for this, ie lifting the back end up for load

Vrex, yes dampers are not for height but pump up shock are, they have an airbag over the shaft and will lift the car, one example is a TF Wagon which towed a 4x4 camper trailer around aust, on kings with std shocks it sat 5mm off the bump stops, with the pump ups and about 140psi (they are rated to about 170) it sat slightly high in the back end, once the family was in the car it sat level with gas and fuel tanks full. This did a 26000k trip around Aust
