Anyone having boot carpet issues? I'm wondering whether it's going to be covered by warranty.

I have a series 3 sports and have noticed the mainly black carpet in the boot is starting to ball quite badly. It makes the colour look strange, then when you look closer the cause is balls of the carpet fibre piling together. I keep it clean and don't use my boot very much. While I vacuum it regularly, I'm not harsh on it when I do so.

Anyone else have this happening in their 380? I wonder how much a new one would cost if they won't replace it under warranty. Rest of the trim in the car has been faultless.

mines looking the same mate, they seem to just go like that my previous 380 had the same issue as did my girlfriends as well as mine, i never really bothered with a warranty claim tho a dealer i went to quoted $175 for a new one. Bit steep i thought.

Could try cutting a new piece from spotlight or something? Is it moulded, or just a flat floor piece cut to fit?

nah has bracing and prefab bends to allow you to get at the spare wheel.
