I have a 1993 TJ Magna Advance wagon. Recently the central locking stopped working. Iniitially I thought it was that the remote had carked it but then I realised that central locking had stopped working altogether - i.e. when I lock/unlock the driver's door with a key all the doors should lock/unlock, but they don't, only the driver's door does. So something more fundamnetal than the remote has packed in.
It's possible that this conincides with when I replaced the indoor light bulb above driver's/passenger's heads. I had to put a new bulb in and when I did there was a bit of sparking and the indoor light doesn't work any more, even with a new bulb. The locking problem may have started at the same time but I can't be sure.
I've checked the door locking fuse and it looks ok. Any idea what could be wrong here?

im definitely no auto electrician, but that sounds like a fuse has maybe died if both are not working i would double check maybe even try another fuse in its place just to make sure, or could be something to do with the main door lock actuator and you blew the light bulb. hope i was of some assistance

Nah, I already tried a different fuse so it's not that. And I've tried a new light bulb so I know the bulb is OK.
What's the story with "the main door lock actuator"?

cool cool, well as far as i now if the drivers side door doesn't send the signal out the rest wont open so it may be buggered, have you tried from the passengers side does it still open them all up? i dont have too much experience with central locking

Def a fuse, I reckon.
Just check your interior light fixture (I assume its the square type where the lens is also the switch, by sliding the lens sideways). Not being a smart-dood, but first check the switch is in the "On" or "Doors" position.
If that's OK and no light, pull the lens off and possibly the bulb out - at one stage I dislodged a wirng connector off the body of that style room lamp, such that the loom wiring connector was shorting on the metal bracket or roof skin. Above the lamp position are some holes and you might see if the spade connector above the trim is sitting squarely/firmly on a tab of the lamp fitting. An LED torch or cap with LED in visor would be handy at this step.
If that wire looks secure and you know your new bulb is good (and if its an LED bulb, be aware that swapping the bulb end-for-end can fix "problems")......
The fusebox in the Engine Bay has a couple of fuses sitting inside a yellox barrier/box thingo. These fuses cannot be extracted without first pulling the Yellow Surround directly upwards - its quite tuff and makes a definate click when it pops up - it'll pop up only a cm or less, don't try to pull it out completely. NOW, those fuses will extract just like a normal wedge fuse. I have a sneaking suspicion that a 10amp fuse in there may have been the one to blow when I shorted my interior lamp. Replace with a known-good fuse and click the yellow surround down again.
Check now if lamp works and if Central Locks have been revived. I may have remembered this wrong, but I think its fuses in engine bay (not at drivers foot) and in that Yellow thing which sorted mine out.
