I got a TR Magna yesterday. So far I've changed the headlamps to halogen globes, added a nice new sound system and DVD player and I'm about to replace a broken tail-light, the tires, the O2 sensor and fix a few dents.

What I want to know now is, what are the first things you would do when getting a TR Magna?

Is there anything about the TR that you absolutely hate and would change right away? What do you think the TR is lacking and needs added? What parts wear the fastest and should be changed? What aesthetic or interior things would you change?

Also, I'm planning on getting some paint made up at a car paint place to fix a few faded spots, my Magna is Metallic Aspen Green, will it look like shit when I repaint the patches? Any tips for that too?

this a V6 or a 4 ...manual or auto
if its a v6 theres a lot more things to look out for

if you dont know the service history
change all the fluids
check the wiring plugs for corrosion or frayed wires

you can fit twin pot brakes to the fronts
i think you can fit 18 or 19 inch mags to it
you can lower the car
other owners will chip in with info

Depends on engine, gearbox, km on it.
Mechanically: Drive shaft boots, joints - check for condition.
Steering rack - torn boots, leaks, play in tie rods, tie rod ends.
Exhaust system - rust, holes.
Blowing smoke, burning oil.
Brake pads, discs fore condition, change hydraulic fluid.
Wheel bearings, ball joints.

Personally, I wouldn't spend money on tyres, audio until the car is mechanically sound.

Paint? Faded metallics don't come up too well if you just repaint faded patches, leave as is or plan for a total repaint.

Have fun! Resurrecting an old TR takes time and money, and patience.

What I hate about the TR? Age! Neglected condition! Faded paint!

Nothing wrong faded paint :P Look through the wreckers there some good parts in veradas :D
