Get your fingers under the edge at the glass, and pull away gently, try to not twist the strips out of shape. The clips will break, most of them. (On older Magnas they do anyway) If you use a flat knife you may be able to disengage them, but I always use the "pull until it breaks" method. Mainly because they go brittle with age. I would try Mitsu for any clips that break. I glue them back on with acid free silastic, after masking the metal off to keep it clean. Clean up with mineral turps while wet, when dry a single edged razor blade cleans up the glass. Messy, but I haven't had any fly off on the freeway yet. lol (I did when I tried to reuse the clips on a TS)

If they ever need to come off again later, its just a matter of putting a sharp knife under the trim and slicing through it.

You should be able to get them to disengage quite easily with a smallish flat head screwdriver.. Go to a wreckers like U-Flog-It & get some practise, you'll end up working it out in a few attempts then you'll be able to get some good clips from the later 3rd gens to fix your broken ones :-) Good luck!

Yeah, I'm not real careful when I pull them off, don't care about the clips, just want to keep the trims from twisting or bending as I've learnt from the TSs that the clips don't work too well when you try to reuse them. On a third gen though it should be possible to lift the trim slightly and work out where the clips are and how to unhook them without damaging them. Have fun! Be slow and patient!

There are two types of clips, one is held captive under the trim with legs that you should be able to disengage. The other is held in by pins along the bodywork and are often partly hidden by the goo used to hold in the screen. The two clips then join together. If you need to replace the body clips, cut away at the goo to release them. Be careful here as nicking the windscreen with a knife or screwdriver will start a crack. Lost a screen like that once, trying to reuse the clip system. Been gluing them down ever since to avoid this. Sikaflex, silastic or something similar - ie flexible - works well.
