Hey there!

Anyone know wheather or not this Scan Tool will work for our MUT III system?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OBDII-OBD2-EODB-JOBD-diagnostic-1-3A-wireless-Bluetooth-/370453129152?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item5640ba27c0 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OBDII-OBD2-EODB-JOBD-diagnostic-1-3A-wireless-Bluetooth-/370453129152?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item5640ba27c0)

They are supposed to be multiple protocol and support all ISO9141-2 (like the EvoScan 1.3D).

Any help would be appreciated.

Most unlikely, especially as it doesn't list the 15k6 baud rate usually used for MUT. MUT-II or -III is a communications protocol, on top of a hardware system. Unless a device explicitly lists MUT support, you should assume it won't work with a Magna until proven otherwise.

not sure , it mentions JOBD ( Japanese OBD ) in the title but nowhere else. JOBD is only used on Jap domestic market so would be useful if you had an import . Evoscan works well on my Delica but havent tried it on the Verada yet.

This won't work, can confirm 100% I have the same one.

Literally none of the bluetooth/wifi ones or "scan gauge" things will work with our cars as 99% of them have ELM327 chips or clones which don't support MUT-II.. Same problem with my Legnum.

Having said that, Munkeymanz has one that does work (its a standalone unit with LCD) but you don't seem to be able to buy them any more when I went looking.

From my research, evoscan seems to be the only "current" solution available to our MUT market. There have been some attempts by others to build there own (theres a EVO forum in UK that have done it) but at the end of the day, if you really need it its easier to just pay for the product. Big question is what will you use if for anyway? Prob a "nice to have" rather than a necessity.

Thanks heaps for your informations and help on this one, guys!

In response to GTVi's post, I was planning on using it with a CarPC install, to show on screen guages like RPM, KMH, Temp etc etc.

Might just spend the few extra $$$'s on the Evoscan USB as it is known to work. Just a pity as the BT version coulda saved a USB port.

Thanks again for the Info!

Cheers,
