Just wondering what dates the KJ Series 1 ran from and when the Series 2 took over ?

Found a blackout cluster from a February 2001 Verada which i want to put in my Ralliart which is a series 2 but i'm thinking it isn't plug and play.

Looks the same, is tiptronic and has traction control but from what i'm told, this won't be plug and play and only Series 2 clusters will fit.

Hence the reason i need to know when Series 1 stopped and Series 2 began.

Not sure of the exact dates, but the 2001 will be either s1 or s1.5

According to the service manual, there were updates effective from August 2001 and again in March 2002 (and an awd specific update in December 2002).

So, as i understand it...

Series 1 = up to 31st July 2001
Series 1.5 = 1st August 2001 - end February 2002
Series 2 = 1st March 2002 - end of production

Regarding the clusters, don't the series 1 clusters have analog odometers whereas the series 2 has a digital odometer? Not sure on whether the series 1.5 is digital or anolog odometer.

They both have digital odo installed, just different variations of it

The series 1 cluster is a tippy version of the KH, the series 2 is pretty much the same as the TJII cluster just with the different needles and darker face.

Personally I prefer the series 1 cluster look, the series 2 needles dont really suit it and they are not all that dark either comparted to the series 1

If you have one out of the car and want to tell, there are several ways, the series 1 will have 2 large square plugs up top in the middle, series 2 have the plugs next to each other on an angle. The series 1 cluster has 2 buttons on the lower RH outer panel to adjust brightness and reset the dig odo
