howdy on sat me and a mate are doing a service on my tl, all new irudium plugs, new oil, oil filter air filter.. is it easy? ive been told i need to replace the inlet manifold gasket after replacing the rear plugs... anythin else i need to know or do? ive previously dumped coolant so dont need to do that thanks

Didnt bother replacing my gasket when I did my rear bank the last 2 times. As for the rest, yeah piece of cake, very straight forward procedure

yeah i have been advised to replace the gasket... worth it or not?? anything else need to be done that i havent mentioned??

cant hurt, not like its expensive, and a backup will mean that if you tear the ones thats in there you will have one to replace it with :)

it is a metal gasket, and if you dont crease it or bend it during removal (nearly impossible to) then you will be all set for another 100k atleast. im pretty sure that decent mechanics never change these metal gaskets unless they stuff up when removing them. also, dont use silicone or similar selants. they can cause damage to the oxygern sensor, and in turn, colapse the cat.

thats strange, every magna i have done have been metal. we are talking about the upper-lower intake plenum arent we?

:edit: although i haver never done a tl onwards model.......

They're like $7 and still not worth replacing unless the current one is stuffed. Though if you don't have one it is time to get one.

You'll also need a torque wrench

Though it was ages go that I was reading about this, they're pretty cheap from mitsu...

They are about $9 from Mitsi but you don't need to replace them anyway.
