seems a little high mate, do you know what brand muffler is being used?, no harm in haggling either, i got quoted the same price for mine and told the bloke the guy down the road offered to do it for 180 but told him i had to wait till tommorow, the guy matched the price and did it on the spot.

Another bloke did tell me $170 but he couldn't guarantee that it would work (he said the exhaust might be rusty which means he might not be able to weld to it). And get this another place wanted $300 with a tip so I thought he can jam that offer where it fits haha!

i will have my Lukey that's on my Ralliart available by next week if you are interested.

2 Months Old and i paid $220 fitted but i have decided to get a big cannon instead.

Let me know if you are interested and we can work something out.

The Lukey sounds great - nice and deep with no drone !!

Would it fit my TL tho? And what would be the postage costs to Townsville I wonder?

Not meaning to Hi-Jack this thread fellas but do you just change the rear muffler and not bother with the resonator? I'm guessing the muffler produces the final tone? Lukeys seem common here, how do they whey in automatics though, I'd hate the constant cabin drone...keen for a more quieter but robust sound on the gas...Is that what you're getting 3.5L_V6_TL_ES?

I heard the autos do sound shitier but its the same engine, idk how they do haha. I want something like what you said in yr post but I want it to sound good on the outside too and not like it does atm (like a woosh of air and a bit of an engine sound).

Also I gotta another question, will the stock resonators still make it sound loud but good and not droney and farty? Cause as far as I kno, the bloke doin it isn't touchin the resonators.

If you change the mid muffler your car is 99.9% likely to sound shit. So leave it there :) You will get a nice deep note out of a new muffler without any raspyness/drone by keeping the mid muffler.

Yeah I was gonna leave the mid muffler anyways. Good thing I wont need to change that. Thanks guys for your responses. Hopefully I'll drive her out of the exhaust shop sounding the best she ever has :D

Got it done last monday. The bastard didn't say if it included a tip and with the tip it ended up being $320 :(. Oh well it sounds really good now and that new chrome 3" droop tip looks nice.

Me? They put a redback on for me came with a year of warranty too. My mate got his TL done about 2 weeks ago and they put some cheap shitty muffler on it. I think it the brand of his was "PEX" or something. Doesn't get as good sound as mine infact it sounds barely any different to stock. They still charged him $280 though. He also got a tip that looks barely different to the stock outlets. It just looks like he chromed the ends of the stock outlets. I much prefer mine. If you want to see mine it's in the "My ride" album on my profile.

i bought the AL4-5597 lukey bolt on muffer from repco for my tj. it was $210 and i had to bolt it on myself. i see in another thread that bursons sell them cheaper. i had a generic 3" straight thru muffler fitted to my TL at an exhaust shop which was $180 so i think these are the going prices. both where fine. not too noisy. if you want to hear what the AL4-5597 sounds like there is a link in my other posts from the qld lakeside race day with my tj. it was easy to fit, but takes a little longer on the sports/vrx due to the rear sway bay

incorrect. i had a tiny resi with a small mercury rear muffler and it sounded tough, no rasp, Kurt has it now. he put it on an auto and it still sounded great
