just put second hand box in 2,6 tr only have third and reverse.tried shearch,and looked though old post. only one i found with same problem was joey,back in 2008. with no with solotion. tried 3 tcu,s tb nutral safty switch mico switch on thoultle pedal and ecu.cleaned allconnections. anybody got a solotion. all do i just convert to 5 speed .

means the trans is in limp mode. not sure what could cause it, should have logged fault codes on the ecu. check it with tech2 or something. maybe double check all the connections, look for burnt wires, reset the ecu see if it clears.

OK I've had a lot to do with this myself and I believe I know the answer, your second hand box was probably from a TS or possibly a later/earlier TR ! did you have to change any plugs/wiring over from your old box to the replacement box, if you did then it is definitely not compatible with your TCU, you really have to check the numbers stamped on these boxes and get one with the same numbers otherwise.... "Limp mode" it is, shame you're in Victoria, I have a TR in my back yard that has a really good auto in it but I'm in QLD.

confirm limp mode, just run it in to a mits dealer and get them to check the error code if you are unable to do it yourself as mike mentioned
