hey guys , i still havnt fixed my magna with the blown gearbox but the oppertunity has come up for me to purchase the same model magna but the 5speed manual version , i can get it for 800

there is a couple thing wrong with it ,
it is missing the front bumper and grill...but i can take them of my current magna
and it has done 290xxx ks

the magna i own now has a transplanted 3.5L in it and the one im looking at buying has the 3.0L in it so would it be possible to take both engines out and put the 3.5L in the manual one that im thinking of buying??? would the 3.5L engine bolt up to the 3.0L 5 speed manual box??? and would i have to swap ecu's or anything like that?

Read through this a few days ago and figured someone more knowledgeable on the matter would reply. I remember reading somewhere on here that there is little difference between the 3.5 and 3.0 boxes, not much difference in strength anyways.

It might have been the auto box only though. Have a search through threads over the past few months on transmission and engine transplants, might find the info you need

The manual from the 3 litre bolts up to the 3.5 just fine and does not require the ECU to be changed.

The 3 litre gearbox has shorter ratios so you'll find yourself shifting up earlier that you would normally with the 3.5 manual and sitting on higher RPMs at 100ks

Buy it as a parts car, do a manual conversion on your current one. You will need to modify your sandwich plate, and you will need a 3.5 manual intermediate shaft.
