so the tr has a oil leak, not using alot of oil but can clearly see it around the engine bay ( pics will come when i get the camera back over next couple days hopefully) tr is blowing some smoke but not using coolant but radiator does seem to be using a little, no milk under the oil cap and fuel comsumption has increased to about 350 to 400km per full tank also never goes past 1/2 on the temp gauge

any ideas?

how many ks on the motor
V6 or 4 cyl

could be valve stem seals

is the radiator cap ok

if it was a head gasket it may be hard to start first up in the mornings

Sounds like a reasonably healthy but very tired engine, they all leak and blow smoke when they get old or have high Km. The old Sigma 2L and 2.6L engines did this at 160,000 km or less. Then it would be time for a rebore, crank grind and head work. lol Put up with it, do a rebuild, or look for a lower Km motor at the wreckers. You could try a thicker oil or an additive that (is supposed to) stop leaks and smoke.
