Hi, Just wondering if anyone can tell me how you actually get the original fabric trim on the door interiors off? Ive read quite a few posts where people have done it, and it looks awesome! But i cant find how to do it... So if someone could tell me or point me in the right direction thatd be great! Thanks!

Remove the door trims. There are 3 screws. one in the vent inlet near the front of the door, one behind the door opening handle, and one in the grab handle, under a lottle cover. Then pop the little clip off to remove the window winder(this is a bit tricky) and then gently pry the trim off, its held on by clips. Once off the fabric panel can be removed from the bacvk by undoung the screws holding it in. Cheers Shaun

Thanks Shaun

I took out the 3 screws, but i cant get the door trims off... do i just pull them? And i dont have a window winder(got elec. windows) so there wouldnt be any other screws down there would there?

Im on the Gold Coast, but thanks anyway hehe

Ill have a go at pulling it off again tomorrow, its too dark now

Do i just have to pull off the top bit above the fabric section, or the bottom as well? Or does it all come off as one .. i have no idea

unclip from the bottom around to the top. Then when all the clips r out...slowly jiggle upwards n it will come out...

then there is a few more screws to undo to get the fabric bit off!

have fun!

got some little pics of mine finally. nothing extravagant (briefly considered leopard skin lol ), just $5 worth of Spotlight black fabric, but definetely makes the interior look neater :D

will do the bottom part of the door when i get the time. Where who i go to to get the carpety stuff for that?

This is one mod im definately taking an interest in and may do after my exams. Would anyone be so kind as to provide a step by step guide on the top as well as the bottom material removal and installation? I think there have been previous guides, however as this topic highlights, specifics could b very useful as well.

That looks good Tim-E, i havent got around to doing mine yet .. i had a 'car-not-starting' issue and thought that was a little more important! hehe But im gonna do it this weekend, the plain black looks good i reckon, but i might use my so called artisticness and design something cool to spray paint onto it or something...

I asked the lady at spotlight about stuff to do the carpet and she showed me some, so they do have it there apparently, but i have forgotten what its called (sorry, that wasnt much help was it!)

I did mine not so long ago and have heaps of photos of it.. (some are on here if you search for retrim..)

When you take the door trim off the actual door you need to lift it vertically as it sort of hangs on the top edge a little. I also didnt actually take off the old fabric as it is glued on pretty hardcore. I just stuck new stuff over the top. I also painted the door handle surround bits silver.

I will try and do a tech article thingo for the job. Its a cheap easy mod that makes a HUGE difference to the interior of your car.

i just used a cotton sort of fabric (gimme a break i dont know my fabrics too well lol ). I thought "fluff" would stick to it really easily but so far its been pretty good.

As for glue i used Premium Bond Craft Glue (made by the brand Craft Smart) from Spotlight. Worked a treat :)

Ello

most of u had probably seen my blue fluff doors lurking somewhere around on teh forum. Anywways, i didn't glue mine on, i got a needle and thread, and pulled the trim tightly behind the trim, and sewed it together. No damage at all to the original trim;) Another thing with fluff is that it doesn't matter if it isn't perfectly glued and flush against the original trim, coz its fluff! its messy, sort of.

Also, anybody happen to find that the triangle things on their front doors had already been broken before u got to them?
