hey fella's

i have just mounted my new Voltmeter.
getting all the wires hooked up tomorrow morning, as im cable dumb.

apart from all other benefits of having it in
now i can go to the drive ins and know when to start the car up so i dont kill my battery with my system pumping.

i have mounted it myself
parts cost me $59 and getting some1 to wire it up for me cost $30
good pricing ?

whadda you guys recon about guages ???

cheers

sorry about the dodgy quality, but i hav no idea how to resize pics properly

what inspired you to put a voltmeter in?

because the stereo drains the batt so much i need to know how low or high the voltage is so i dont do damage to my battery

"the voltmeter warns of engine problems before they get serious and expensive. If their is a problem with the battery, charging system or even just a slipping fan belt, a voltmeter will warn you before you run into trouble."

well worth it in my books

If your worried about your stereo using the juice, i would have put a amp meter in instead of a volt meter??.This will tell how much of a load that the stereo is putting on your ALT.

Dude if it's just a volt meter, wireing is EASY AS PISS! Put the +ve wire to ANY power wire (ur stereo, interior light, cigarette lighter, ANYTHING) and the -ve wire u just earth to the body. It works just the same as if ur testing a battery with a multimeter. The guy who's chargin ya $30 to wire it is laughing behind your back garanteed! lol

A current meter will tell u what LOAD u are applying to the battery, but in NO way tell u when the battery is going flat. The battery should normally sit at around 12-13V, but when in use, if the battery drops below about 11V u have little to NO chance of starting the car. (Don't quote me on 11V being the value though.. I did my cells & batterys module at college like 2 months ago, but there have been MANY drunken spells & late nights since then, so...)
