Most likely a leaf or 4 have found their way in there, try and pump it up at full noise for a few mins, may mash the leaf, if not and it turns out to be the fan, pop me a message as I have a few of them here. I highly doubt is a faulty fan though as these are quite good units

I have the same noise with my VRX climate control.
Crawl into the passenger side door and look on the inside of the centre console just before the fire-wall. You will see a small black box with a white plastic clip on the outside of it. When your cruise control is making the clicking noise you will feel the vibration in that unit. It is about ths size of a relay.
Hopefully that is the issue. If so, replace it and the noise should go away.
I found it on mine last week but haven't had a chance to do anything about it. I'm not even certain of what the little black box is, I think it controls your internal/ external air flow.
See how you go with it a let us know please. If that is the problem I can get mine done too.

dont forget that you can access the fan externally by removing the front valance and fresh air intake cover on the passanger side you can look directly down onto the fan down the inlet.

Thanks guys! It does sound like paper or most case a leaf, so I can access it via the seal where the wipers are?? The fan works perfect cept the noise drives me nuts! Iv'e tried it on high for a period of time but no luck, it's most noticeable on low speed!

Will check it out tonight

Thanks

just as easy to undo the 3 screws holding the fan motor in place and inspect the fan for debris or mechanical faults

Ok so i pulled the cover off the passenger side above the fan box, and removed the other small cover which covers the vent opening, few leaves but nothing major, while open and running i used a brush on the blades remove anything that may of been in the way, the noise has gone, and now i now how the system works, while there the rubber seal on those plastic pieces seems to have perished a little so i cleaned off all the rubber with a blade (most of it fell away anyways) it looks heaps cleaner now around that area, I also covered that vent with fly screen to prevent any leave etc getting in seeing as the seal is gone any ways, i just made sure it was secured tight with cable ties.

All in all im happy the noise is gone and it cost me nothing to fix
