has anyone any experience with these on a Magna? I'm told they the quietest tyre there is, which appeals to me. $180 ea. isn't too bad (that's for 215/60 x 16)

Not likely, they are a fairly new tyre IIRC. noise from a tyre depends largely on the tread pattern, large chunky tyres tend to make the most noise. Buy some and let us know how you get on. lol

I might just do that.
For what it is worth, we have Michelin Synergy on our Magna. They aren't really that quiet. Tyre noise is probably the most prominent feature of the Magna.

We've found that most Michelin are usually the middle runners of their various price groups. Not the best for the money, but you could certainly do worse.
Haven't had personal experience with the Primacy LC myself, so if you do end up getting them post back your thoughts.

Is it? Not on my Verada GTV, but then again, maybe the Veradas have more sound insulation?

This is true. 3rd gens have always suffered from loud road/tyre noise. they had issies when the TE's were first realeasd with excessive noise.

Can't recommend these enough.
100% happy with them. Excelent grip, wear well and dead quiet.

Seconded.
Mine are only 3,000k old but so far very happy with them.
Haven't really hammered them yet, but maybe on the SA cruise this Saturday night.

yep, my TW is noisy, it is the only problem with an otherwise fantastic car.

I have two of them fitted to the front of my TL - 215/55/17. They are as claimed - a very quiet tyre (not even audible on smooth surfaces, some expected noise on rough surfaces). There's a bit of marketing gimmick surrounding them (some fuel saving claims, etc), but overlooking this, I'd say they are a very nice tyre. Much, much quieter than the rubbish Nangkang's I previously had on the car, and on par if not better (in terms of road noise) with the Sumitomo HTRZIII's I now have on the rear. Grip appears to be good in wet and dry. A tyre I have a lot of confidence in - mind you, I don't drive at the limits in my car. I can't recall which Michelin line they replaced the Primacy LC's with, but they claimed improved grip etc over the previous model. I paid about $240ea for mine.

Hi 380Mitsu,
thank you, that is helpful. Mine will be fitted on Monday, replacing the RE92s it came with from new, have done 75k.

had the Primacy LC fitted today, $170 ea, 215/60 x16,, inc. balance and getting rid of the old tyres. First impressions: v quiet, comfortable, better ride than 6 year old RE92s, also better grip: doesn't squeal under takeoff as the RE92s were prone.
So far, so good.

have done a bit more driving on them inc some on the freeway. I now find that engine noise bothers me more. There is a lot less tyre noise than the RE92s. Overall, very happy. Good grip and ride, and v quiet. Might not last as well as the RE92s, which had lots of meat left even after 74k.

Glad you're happy with the tyres. I've done probably 4000kms on mine and so far they are going well. I'm curious to see whether they remain as quiet once they have done a few more kms - that was a real problem with my previous set of cheapies, they were great to begin with, but horrible after about 15,000kms.
Michelin have both quiet and noisy tyres.. unfortunately for me (and for my dad too), i have their slightly noisy range (Sport Pilot, or something like that), then again it could be coz they're in an 18" profile. despite this, i do like these tyres- they're grippy in the dry AND in the wet

What kind of lifespan do you expect to get out of them? And how do they go on coarse bitumen?
Dad's Commodore came standard with a set of Adrenalin RE050As. Very grippy tyre for sure. They were very quiet on smooth suburban bitumen, but they had a noticeable roar on coarse bitumen. And lifespan wasn't that good - he got 30-35,000km out of them, but that's with very conservative driving. I would have said most members here wouldn't even get 30k out of them.
Despite this I'm still considering a set of RE001s when my Maxxis MA-Z1s wear up (they have 30k on them and are probably good for at least another 15k... not bad for a performance tyre).

Hey mate. Tyres are quiet on all surfaces and are a quieter tyre than the RE050A's. The RE050A's are Bridgstone's ultimate performance tyre and therefor are softer and wear quicker. I currently have just over 20,000k's on mine and would think they are about 1/3 worn, so 2/3 left. And remember, these are on an AWD of mine so wear quicker than a FWD.
These tyres are excelent in all conditions especially the wet. Can drive in the wet as if it is dry they hold that well.
Best tyre i have come across. I believe they would be better in the wet than the RE050A's.

I know you've been a big fan of the ER300 in the past as well, i've got to get new tyres in the coming month or so and wanted to know which do you reccomend out of ER300 and Adrenalin's for my VR-X, i want low noise/grip/good handling/long wear and want to stay with bridgestone.
thanks

I had a similar list of wants, but the Michelin was cheaper than b'stone and I don't regret fitting them. Grip is much better than the old RE92s

Hey mate. Yhey are both a very good tyre. Both are the same noise/comfort wise. Both very quiet. ER300 has good grip but Adrenalin RE001's are much better.
I got 60,000 out of my ER300's on an AWD with 80% moderate driving and rest hard.
So far, i have 20,000 out of the Adrenalin RE001's, about 1/3 worn and prob about the same driving style which i am happy with.
I personally would go with the RE001's because if you got the ER300's you would always be saying "what if". And the wear rate i am currently getting with them, i should get similar k's hopefully.
I have tried other brands but end up back with Bridgstone.
The RE001 is hard to beat as an all round package. Go Ultra hi performance with another brand and you get noise with it.

thanks alot for this, i'm now sold. Just have to see how cheap they are now with the bridgestone sale, as prior to sale i was quoted $239 for 225/50/17 for the re001
