Just wondering if anyone else with a 3rd Gen has this issue.

When i fitted my wiper arms back on the car after spraying them they were fine, until one day the arms adjusted themselves and the drives side on hit the side of the windscreen.

Then today i was driving and then left hand and right hand arms got stuck together in the middle of my windscreen, and then after a few more clicks of the stalk the drivers side on is somehow hanging off the side of the car.

Has anyone else ever dealt with this? Its quite hilarious.

Yes, its hilarious. Especially if it happens to someone else. If it happened to my car, I'd be worried about the wipers twisting and scratching the glass, or bending the linkages.

Try setting them straight and tightening the nuts that hold them on. If they still move about after that the splines on the shafts are probably stripped - put some loctite in there. A common problem with the rear wiper on the wagons.

Like i didnt think of that, that was the first thing i ever did.

Max ive taken them off and re-done them so ill see how that holds otherwise i will need to use some Loctite as i dont want it happening in winter when i need them. Down side is some of the paint on my a pillar now have blemishes from where the wiper arm hit it.

Loctite will keep them on, but you may have trouble getting them off later. lol

Maybe, if the splines on the arms or spindles are stripped, get some from a wreckers? Not much of a job to remove and replace. Might just be the wiper arms that have stripped.
