View Full Version : Acceleration hesitation

I’ve noticed an occasional slight acceleration hesitation while driving slowly and accelerating suddenly. The hesitation is only a split second and only seems to only happen when cold.
2005 VRX 90,000 kays with service completed not long ago. Don’t thing the spark plugs were changed though – could this be the cause?

Cheers

could be the ECU
if it is cold it runs different to when it is warm (closed and open loop cycle)

Pretty normal with most cold cars. You will also notice a significant difference in fuel usage until everything warms up a bit.

i noticed this couple of times as well... and the engine was definitely warm... i noticed it when braking down into roundabout and then accelerating from the turn... but really happened only once or twice... not a drama

crappy fuel / check fuel filter. rule those out first

I get acceleration hesitation when exiting carparks and the road surface changes - it's the traction control thinking the wheels are slipping and cutting power.

Yeah I've seen that just recently too - sorta a doughy spot if you pound the pedal down suddenly. Could be cold, because it goes away after a few minutes.

Wouldn't the traction control light come on?

find a gravel road and HOOK IT UP

disco lights will flash and power will cut to the wheels
