Hi guys im new to the club forum. Our problem is we have a 2004 tl wagon that when u drive the air con stops working at certain revs and the antilock brake light comes on. Then when u return to idle the light goes off and the aircon resumes working again. The car has factory lpg.. Could it be the body control module ? Shes done 460000km and is an ex taxi. Has anybody come across a problem like this? Help !!!

Probably unrelated problems. Get the aircon gassed up - should be a sticker under the bonnet if its been done since the car was new - and clean the ABS sensors on all 4 wheels, check sensor to rotor clearances too. Then try it again. If that doesn't help, see a Mitsu dealer who can plug in the diagnostic tools to see what error codes there are.

At 460,000 km she would be a pretty tired car. I hope the previous owner has kept up with the problems that appeared during that time. lol I have seen the odd ex taxi high Km advertised and unless its cheap and has a detailed service history I would be hesitant in buying one.

I would be checking driveshafts for play and split boots, steering rack for leaks and trans fluid for condition, ball joints and rotors for wear, etc

Not for a taxi, if it is on the road 24 hours a day, never gets to cool down and gets serviced regularly. You have to wonder about driveshafts, gearbox, suspension and brakes though.
