Well,after a spirited run through the hills the other night,the clutch pedal started feeling a bit soft and not returning to full height unless i pulled it up with my shoe...mmm..
now im not hard or into flat or quick changing,as ,i just dont do it....so ,dont say,yeah,,ya thrashed ya clutch...
any way....after not changing gears for a while(as the twisties were over )it started to feel better.
Next day all was fine and good for a couple of days
Tonight im out driving it and the pedal has seriously sunk to the floor,feels soft as,no spring/resistance:eek2: and hardly returning at all...f*** it
gears are really really hard to get it to,forget reverse,had to turn it off ,put it gear and start...
take up,if any ,is mm off the floor...
sigh....prognosis

Leaking master or slave cylinder. Air in the system. Easy to fix. Look for leaks. Bleed it first. Worn out clutch. Not so easy to fix. How many Km on the car/engine/clutch?

most neglected things on these cars is the clutch fluid. make sure its full, other wise you will be sucking air. once it full, bleed and flush it. look for any leaks.

Surely you put new fluid in when you did the manual conversion not long ago?
New fluid should last for at least 50,000k.
And if you got air in the system when you did the conversion the symptoms should have shown up well before now.
My money's on a leak somewhere which is letting air into the system.
Master cylinder seals might be worn out (or leaky slave, but I doubt it).. other than that, make sure your clutch fluid is full :)

Did you use a new master Cylinder or is the one that came with the conversion..?? If its the old one id say it might be time for a new one. They are that expensive(aftermarket around $100) as i had a lazy pedal in my car when it was on the Dyno just after engine build. Pedal would only come about 3/4 way back out. New Master Cylinder and she was all good again.:)

If there are no leaks at the slave cylinder or at the pipe and hose joints , it will be an internal leak in the clutch master cylinder. Hopefully you put a new clutch kit in when the manual conversion was done. Once off a car hydraulic components like master clutch/brake cylinders and calipers/slave cylinders can deteriorate quickly and its always a good idea to dismantle, clean and inspect, and re-kit the rubbers if they are suspect. Saves you pulling it apart again soon after the install. lol
Actually. Make sure the nipple on the slave cylinder is fully closed, if that's leaking everywhere it would make sense that the pedal isn't coming back up.
Again, the fluid level will tell you if anything has leaked. If it hasn't, as MadMax has said, it would be an internal leak (which is less likely to happen).

Check you fluid level, if your level is fine then I would have someone hold the pedal down while you look at the slave rod, make sure that the rod does not move back while pedal is depressed. If the pedal does not move back then it is an issue with the pressure plate.
NO this was not a new kit when the manual conversion was installed.

Thanks for the replies.....checked in the light this arvo and the pedal height and pressure and return is fine now,
Checked fluid level and it is down to the low level mark,so i will top it up,keep an eye on it and check for leaks....weird...

Check that the clutch slave cylinder nipple is turned off tight and that the bolt undoing the line is done up tight. Sounds like it may have been leaking somewhere and might even have air in it now, small chance if it's still got fluid in.
