Hey guys i just need a bit of info for my V6 TE.
I recently replaced all the Tappets in my rear bank and cleaned and re assembled the ones in the front bank. Since then i have down grade to 15w-40 Oil as opposed to 20w-50, and today i noticed the tappet was back but at times it went away for about 30 seconds only to come back again.
I was wondering if this could be due losing oil pressure since im now running a thinner oil?

In simple terms no. I run syn5 in my cars and hpr 10 in ALL my customers cars
What brand lifters did you use. How did you clean rails and rockers both internally and externally. 20w as i keep saying is not right and going back to 15w you will barely notice oil pressure difference but the engine will run a little more free and even poss use less fuel

Could be the brand of lifters. Mine are brand new (TS V6) yet leak down over 2 days and rattle at startup. 20W-50 oil in it too. Heads were stripped and cleaned so its not clogged passages.
I guess I will just have to drive it every day. lol
Tappets were a no brand, surprisingly cheap type, supplied by the engine recon workshop that did the heads. Still have 10 out of the 12 originals that tested ok, but I CBB tracing and replacing the rattly ones. lol

Thanks for the replies guys, the brand of the lifters i would have no clue about, but its the ones in the front bank that i cleaned, that are rattling again.
For the front bank i pulled the rocker arms off the shaft and pulled the HLA's out and soaked them all in diesel and ensured the bleed holes weren't blocked. They pumped full of diesel alright and were fine. So im not sure if the tappets in the front bank could just be cactus. I will be flushing the oil out soon and replacing it so i spose i will find out then.
Edit: Also i used wire to help clean the rocker shaft.

honestly the best solution i think is using MITSUBISHI engine oil attitive- to the oil, and before changing the oil run the MISTSUBISHI engine oil flush!
Possibilty consider using the 20w-50 oil they use in the magna but think about it (again genuine product).... IMO it is too thick!

Thinner oil would pump them up quicker, but then again leakdown might be quicker too. Mmmmm . . . . . lol
I'm going to try HPR10 in mine to see if it improves things.
