Does it look alright? I have a few questions, does the steering wheel actually have audio control buttons? Or are they on the back of the wheel? Also, how is the servicing costs of one of these compared to say a falcon or commodore? I heard some of the 2005 models were recalled due to a manufacturing fault, was this major? And one last question, as Mitsubishi Aus is now not operating, will that increase part prices? Thanks for your help guys!

JEEEZ that is cheap!!
If it is a one owner you cant go wrong. Check timing belt changed at 100,000k.
Audio controls are on back of wheel.
I have a 2005 model GT. Only real issue is window mechanism failure. Plenty of info on this site. Very good Cars.
Servicing costs are on par with commodore or Magna, as are spares prices.
Good Luck

Firstly that is the same year model and even colour as mine!! Yes the audio buttons are on the back of the steering wheel and are easy to use, they just take a little while to remember what does what. Haven't heard of any recall. +1 on what ChrisV said. They are heaps better than the same year Foulcoon or Crummydoor. Check also when the plugs have been done. That is a great price. Offer 9k and see if he takes it. Oh yeah an NRMA inspection wouldn't hurt if you are not up on cars. cheers

I'm paying $370 a year with CGU (now Bendigo Bank).
But I'm an old fart with no claims for centuries.
Looks like a good buy to me.
Good spark plugs are cheap as chips if you get them from Fleabay and if you're even remotely familiar with a spanner taking the intake plenum off to replace the rear bank of plugs is a piece of cake.

Was that with Coles? If not, check them out. They are pretty cheap and are new to the insurance game and trying to get some market share... I pay $610 (29 year old male) for my Manual 380 VRX

Mine's $888 but would be well over a thousand if not for the regular policy discounts. Good ol' Sydney.

Re the recall question of 2005, it was for only a small number of cars. The connector locking tab on the fuel hose that connects to the fuel inlet pipe on the engine may not be fully based and, as a result, the hose may become dislodged. In the worst case this could result in fuel leakage and loss of fuel pressue causing the engine to stop.
The 380s involved in this recall were built between July 4 and October 19, 2005.
The only other 380 recall is for the left hand rear fuel tank retaining strap bracket
Date of recall creation 24th September 2008
The affected vehicles were manufactured between 27 July 2006 and 19 February 2007.
There is the potential in the event a vehicle with a full tank of fuel is involved in a severe collision, that the LHR fuel tank retaining strap bracket may fail allowing the fuel tank to dislodge resulting in the possibility of a fuel spill.
Mitsubishi contacted the owners of all vehicles involved to have them fixed.

Looks like a good price but if you are buying a 380 then it's a long term thing..think until it goes to the scrapyard. You will be suprised how much more it depreciates in a year and when you cross that magic car exploding 150,000K mark.
I'm trapped in mine now due to not wanting to take the 8k or so depreciation hit in less than 2 years but it's a good car and is teaching me the value of delayed gratification :-)
