Hi,

I own a 1996 TE executive manual.

I have just purchased a new gear boot/gaiter (bag thingy) cover for my car and would very much like to learn how to install it.

I am new to this forum and unsure how to navigate it really, so if anyone could post/refer me to a step by step guide on how to replace my stereo I would very much appreciate it.

The centre console needs to come off the car, gear knob first though. If you turn it upside down you will see how its held in.

ok thanks, but how do i take off the center console?

i think the gear knob just screws off.
the center console comes off easily, u have to remove the ashtray 1st, then pull out the ashtray surround. Disconnect the ciggy plug wires.

Then attack the centre console, start from the back( near the arm rest) by pulling upwards and work your way to the front.
Its really easy and only takes less than 5mins..

im not sure if there are any screws that I will have to undo but I guess the best way to find out would just be to do what you guys have said.

Nope, no screws. Just clips. Open the arm rest thing and just pull up on the rear.
