Ive had a look on the workshop manual and could only find the diagram for the 3 pin antennas...

Any halp would be muchly appreciated

Sounds like you half height aerial which come from a KH verada there is a diagram for it, which I can't make heads or tails lol

I have used it from the manual before, it is there, just ahve to find it, have not got the manual in front of me but look at the KJ manuals, think is there and remember that the option you are looking for is the Xi

connector G-44 in both Tj & TH , 6-8 speaker diagram but i can only see 6 wires on TH, 5 on TJ if I'm reading it correctly

I can't find the switch to control half height as this would make the diagram make more sense kinda hate Mitsubishi halfcock circuit diagrams

Edit found it sorry just tired and miss it lol

probably an integral part of the stereo so they don't show it??

Before I go lookin too far here ...... do Kj's even have a half height switch or are you guys tryin to mod a KRKS aerial to fit??

KH has the half heigh aerial.

Whippy

the antenna is from a kh i believe, and it is half height compatible.....

okay ive figured out the pos and neg wires.... would it be stupid to run a fused wire to the other pins in the plug and see if it triggers it...?

Okey dokey

I looked at the sec gen diag but it uses a 6 pin plug and is straight forward

I'll have a sticky at the KH jobbby now :)

I is the full height Positive trigger

C is the half height Positive trigger

D is ACC power

J is battery power

That as much I can figure out :)

Looks like the trigger are from the radio go figure lol

Is the half height switch for the aerial on the radio itself??

Here the other of side :)

Just a big side note:

KH verada had few extra pieces that other did not veradas got.

I have a KH XI, the radio has the half height button in it. Turn the radio off, antenna goes down, turn the radio on and if it was last set to radio instead of cd, the antenna will come up, if its still on cd it will stay down. The half-height button makes it go between half and full height. If someone in Adelaide wants to stick a multimeter on mine to see what its doing when you push different radio buttons let me know.
TLDR: half height button is in the radio unit.

I and C come from the radio all rite
If pin 3 goes to earth (or below the potential of C ) pin 6 is at earth
If pin 3 is open (or above the potential of C ) then pin 6 goes to the level coming from C

So C could do both heights

Pin 7 is controlled by the output of I and whether or not ACC is on

From what Timi just sed, I would think that pin 7 is for aerial down control

If I was doing it I would put earth on pin 5

Put power on pins 4 and 8

Measure whats on pin 6

If nothing then earth it to see what the aerial does

ignore the other 2 for the moment

If you can get access to the radio mesure whats on I and C

The antenna goes down by turning the radio unit off even if the car is still on, so it might be a wire from the radio unit not ign.acc?

Acc just keeps the diode reverse biased

Either the radio output from I or Acc going off shud drop the aerial via pin 7

... look at the KJ manuals, think is there and remember that the option you are looking for is the Xi

Found this thread after getting a replacement antenna (part number MB953711) from the wreckers then discovering the 8 pin plug rather than the 3 pin from the antenna in our TW magna. Stupidly I didn't get the plug (mutter, mutter). Return trip to wreckers required.

Hopefully I'm looking at the correct pin wiring diagram - looking at the KJ manual, Chassis Electrical (section 54), TJ/KJ BASE MANUAL, then find the antenna section. It shows:
Pin 1/2/5 - positive
Pin 8 - negative
Pin 6 - broken "- - - - - -" line
Pin 7 - dotted "__ . __ . __" line

It states:
- when the broken line circuit is connected, the antenna rises.
- when the broken line circuit is disconnected and the dotted line is connected, the antenna descends to the intermediate position.
- when the dotted line circuit is disconnected, the antenna descends all the way.

Trying to figure how I can wire this to ignore the intermediate & just do full up for radio on and full down for radio off. I think I just connect pin 6 to control up/down, but not 100% sure from the way the manual is worded.

Can anyone confirm or correct?
