Hi people
I have a TJ 2000 and i had always thought i had an electric aerial (mast was snapped when i got it.) and today i checked and its not a powered one not even a cable for the electrics,also light for the ring around the ignition.
So what do the Advance have that Executives dont.yes i have power windows and cortesy lights in the doors.
So is there a list of options for our cars.
Rob.

I have an 01 TJ VR-X and it lacks the electric antenna and the light around the ignition. I know the later TJ VR-Xs (be it Series 1.5, MY02 etc) had the electric antenna so it could be the same with the Advance.

do a search on VIN numbers you can tell the exact model that your car is :)

You’ve got a series 1 Advance. The series 2, from about mid 2002 (?) picked up the electric antenna and climate control, amongst other things, as standard.

Standard equipment in a series 1 Advance versus the Executive includes dual airbags, electric windows and cruise-control, again amongst other things.

I’m sure others will be able to offer more insight though. :)

As Presti mentioned, check your VIN number - the seventh digit is the model code.

D = Executive
A = Advance
S = Sports/VRX

Bah, ignore him, he drives a Magna lol

Seriously, yes, if yuo have the A you have an advance, for some reason Mits did not distinguish between the sports and the vrx in the J series but other than that is not too hard to determine what you have in so far as options go

FYI, if you had a series 2, all the wiring etc is there for the foot well lights, key ring light and other bits, just missing globe holders, series one however did not have this

It is not that hard to connect up, you can do the foot well lights yourself and can even set up a key light as the pin is already there in the BEM, cant remember what pin number but have a look at the downloadable manual, is all in there
