Well, outside at the moment working on the TF. Removed the plastic covers, grille, indicators and all the bolts and screws that hold the headlights in, then realised my KF Verada lights don't have anywhere to fit the parkers. Actually, the passenger side one does, just not the drivers side.
Damn.
Adding to the problem is the connector for the globe itself. On the KF Verada the connector has two wires, a white wire with a red stripe (which one would assume is positive) and a black negative cable. The TF's connector has three wires, a white with red stripe (same as the KF), then a red with a white stripe, and a solid red. From a search of the forums the red wire needs to be connected to earth and the others should remain untouched, but i've read so many different threads and different scenarios (trim levels, model year differences, one-piece vs two-piece paras) that I want to be absolutely certain before I start cutting in to the TF's wiring. I've seen too many cases where wires have been unnecessarily cut and incorrect connections made, so I tend to err on the side of caution in such cases.
Is it safe to assume the white with the red stripe is to be left as-is (acting as positive) and the red with white stripe is just left disconnected (the globe itself only has 2 blades).
Secondly, do any of these wires act as a negative? If I can just swap the pins around in the connector I will, but this relies on one of the three wires (white w/ red, red w/white and solid red) being a positive and another being a negative. I'd rather take this method as it doesn't involve cutting any of them.
Finally, what's the best way to tackle the "lack of parkers" issue?
Cheers
