My father in law was recently given a TH stationwagon (for free). It had been sitting in a paddock for about 2 years or so. Apart from a roof respray and a dust interior it starts fine (new battery) and engine wise drives well. He got a full fluid replacement and got it registered.
Now it does have a issue with bearings (we think) because at low speed it makes a slight squealing noise. The brakes were fully inspected for the blue slip and fluid was replaced.
What can we do to see if the bearings are going / gone? AND how much does it cost?
Also as it has been "out to pasture" what else should be looked at?? (It had new belts and tyres put in / on the year before being parked in the paddock).
Also how much will a new key cost?

Thanks,

New key best to check with Mits, but last time I enquired it was $180 including encoding, but it varies between dealerships.
Bearings are usually around the $150 mark each.

I'd get the belts inspected anyway, rubber generally goes harder the longer it's left unused.
