hey guys,
ok so i was wondering should i stay with my jvc 6x9's in the rear or should i change them over to like good splits ?? cause i had my mates sub in my car and it sounded awsome in the front but when i sat in the rear the treble mid and bass were all slured and distorted. wasnt as crisp as the front lol
what i was thinking:
first option:
maybe replace rear 6x9's and put in some decent splits similar to my fronts and connect the rear splits to my headunit that way i wont have to upgrade my amp. (currently my 6x9's are running of the amp and i have turned the high pass filter on but there is still bass going to the 6x9's)
second option would probs be to upgrade my 4 channel amp to a more tune able amp. one which will allow me to cancel out all low pitch frequencies to the 6x9's.
both will probs cost me about the same amount, just wanting some opinions cheers :)

3rd option: Remove all rear speakers and invest in a really nice set of front splits. You won't need the rears after that as it creates a surround effect when setup correctly

I rekon get good 6x9's for the rear - with your amp u turn the HPF on and u also have ur CD player set on -10 or wateva for LOW. that way you'll have no bass through the speakers. go for somthing like 70W RMS + You'll c a massive differnce i had clarion 6x9's at the rear and i was gona get splits in the rear doors but then i just got pioneers 70W rms (clarions were 30-40) WAT A DIFFERENCE :) very happy now - cd player on -10 for bass and sub on 0. :) its perfectly balanced :) no bass goes through the speakrs no matter how loud i turn it up

yea my mate has some clarion 6x9's connected in his falcon and they sound awesome i dunno pretty much its connected the same way as mine but as you said it could be the quality of the speaker.

I ditched the my Sub and went with Eclipse 6x9s.
Whilst I do agree with running splits and subs.. If your carrying rear passengers at any stage... there only gonna hear Bass.
The car's cabin cannot replicate a pseudo surround sound good enough for back seat passengers without dumping a hell of alot of dosh on time alignment gear and a decent EQ..( Try it out... Sit in the back seat and fade out the rears you will soon hear what I mean)
What I would do is run a decent set of 6x9s. (not JVC or Sony) and amp them up . Spend a little on getting them installed properly so they don't rattle and go from there..
Set the system up to be frontal Biased so the 6x9's give you the low end without drowning out the fronts.. that way you get a nice sounding system your rear passengers will also enjoy.
If you don't carry rear passengers and it is 90% only you in the car... then Spend Big on the Front end and Run a MonoBlock with a 12inch sealed sub (ported if you like your Bass to have extra oomph)
