I have a problem when I unlock my car when I use the key to unlock the door, when I try to open the door the central locking locks the doors before I have a chance to open the door, if I use the remote on the key all is ok but the remote is on its wayout and was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and is there a way to fix it?

WHen you turn the key, does it fee "hard" to turn? If it feels as though you are moving something mechanical inside the door by turning the key, then that's not right, and it'd probably to do with the bar that actuates the unlock mech from the key mech. Otherwise I'd be checking the alignment of the unlock motor unit in the driver's door. It sounds to me as though when you turn the key, it is not unlocking far enough to move the integrated switch to "unlocked" and therefore re-locking staright away.. alignment is very simple. just a clip to undo, move and re-clip. Could also be a lubrication issue if you live in a dusty environment, like on a dirt road or something. it could stop the mech from moving far enough. When you remove the doortrim, take care to remove the water shield without tearing it, by cutting the mastic with a stanleyknife. you can then simply apply pressure to re-bond it. It's a very important part of the door that a lot of people simply rip out. Mistake. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for your reply, I will checkout what you said, but I think its something to do with the security system being faulity, as sometimes when I'm driving along and the doors are unlocked, all of a sudden they lock themselfs, even though i haven't even gone anywhere the button, and the alarm will sometimes go off for no reason, I have read that the security system on KR's can play up a bit. The key does turn easy when I try unlock the door.
