I'm not really good with technical shit to be honest, I'm only really starting to learn about cars and performance. I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of information on the following parts for a TR - whether they're worth it, how much they go for, whether they're hard to find etc.

The parts I'm interested in are - Camshafts, Cold Air Intake Systems, Performance Chips, Headers/Extractors, Slotted Brake Disks, High Flow Catalytic Converters (getting a cat-back exhaust so I was thinking it'd be good to get at the same time).

The Magna air intake, headers and cat converters aren't too shabby. You'll see gains, but they won't be huge.

Slotted brake discs don't do a whole lot either (on their own at least). A good set of pads or even a twin piston upgrade (not sure what 2nd gens came with those) would be much more beneficial.

You'd have to DIY a cold air intake up. The Magna modification scene isn't exactly brimming with competition.

Are these mods worth it? On a 4 cylinder 2nd gen, I reckon not: I'd be putting my money towards something else. A TH/TJ Sports could be found for the $4-6k mark and would still be a lot quicker than a 2nd gen with a whole bunch of bolt-on mods...
