Hi all,
As I mentioned in the broken window thread, my driver side window recently seized up and had to be fixed. I only just noticed, on the weekend, that when they put the trim back in place, there is a section of trim about 2 inches long that is not fully clipped into place - about where the circle is shown in this photo (right where the black trim clips over/into silver plastic trim).
How does this clip back into place? I've tried pushing, squeezing, & shoving it with a car key, but nothing. Is a special tool or technique required?
I can take it back to the dealer and tell them, but I'd feel a bit silly reporting it as it looks like something even a child could fix. (I guess it must be fool-proof.)

PS I know the arm rest shown in this picture is of the passenger side; it was the only photo I had of that part of the interior.

Take the door trim off and fiddle with it from the back, should work.

Possible that the bozo who refitted the trim has jammed it against the bracket behind the circled area.

The trim has a tongue on it in this spot which must be fitted under the door mounted metal bracket not over it.

Piece of cake to take the door trim off & replace, I've done it many times.

Four screws to remove - door handle surround (lift handle and you can't miss it), main screw under the door pull handle (remove rectangular cover plate, pulls out easily) and two small screws on/near bottom edge of trim, both covered by a small plastic cover that you pull off.

Then feel for the slot in the bottom edge of the trim, stick your fingers in it and pull outwards fairly hard to pull the trim plug away from the door shell. Continue on around the trim pulling the trim & plugs away from the door shell. The plugs remain attached to the trim, with a bit of play so they can be refitted.

Once you have pulled all the plugs away the whole door trim lifts up and out.

Then unplug the speaker and the power window connector plugs, and the trim is free.

Reverse this procedure to refit.

The only fiddly bit is getting the tongue to go under the bracket not over it. You need to position the trim on the top edge of the door and angle the trim out from the door at just the right angle before you push the trim down into place.

Way easier with the window down than up, just make sure you put the window down before you pull the window plug!

i would say KJ is right about the bracket on the other side possibly pushing against the trim but im almost certain that that part of the door trim is actually supposed to be plastic spot welded to the trim it self (in the GT anyway, i assume the same for yours) and shouldn't come off for any reason other then it being re fitted in correctly.
