Hey guys i got a 2004 Mitsubishi Magna TL VRX and currently on my exhaust is the standard piping with a Mercury Muffler the Resonator has been taken off and replaced with pipe and my next and final step is Extractors? what price am i expecting the guy i have been getting to do the exhaust work says red backs are around $800 i think it was and pacemakers was $1000 is there much difference in the quality or sound? and also I'm looking at the Mercury Catalytic Converter is this worth the hassle? as i have heard these go pretty well cheers Chris.

Didn't know Redback made extractors for our cars. As far as price goes $1000 for a set of pacemakers is a rip off, I assume thats fitted? As for the cat, I don't know anything about this Mercury brand but just make sure whatever you get fitted is high flow and metal core.

Pacemakers and redback headers can both be found on ebay for around $500, both are on there now. Sure you could get those and find install for less than $300-500. (I'm assuming the TL uses the same extractors as the TJ, even though it isn't listed on the Pacemaker site, they are exactly the same engine after all)

Redback extractors are Wildcat extractors. You could probably get them installed under $500 definitely if you look around, only thing with pacies they require some welding from what i know hence labour is more.....

Cheers guys yeah i thought the $1,000 mark was very pricey for a set of extractors, i have never bought extractors before but had a set on my previous VT Commodore and my boss said they cost him around $600 new when the VT model came out i just looked at Ebay for a set of extractors and messaged the guy about seeing if these will fit and as Timmy B said they do have the same engine so hopefully i'll get a reply soon :) if anyone else has more advice on the Catalytic converter your more then welcome to post your opinion cheers Chris.

Try this mob, they have much better prices than ebay. http://www.bestmufflers.com
Cheers Luke
How about HM Headers? I have them on my car (same design as fitted to the ralliart magnas). The TJ ones fit onto TL/W without problem.
