Hey guys.

Sorry about this, but even after owning a magna for almost a year, i still know nothing about them.
so im thinking about spicing it up a bit. Im getting bored of the stock look.

How much would i expect to pay to get the car lowered?
Low or superlows (comparrison shots please)
What brand of springs?
Whats the most comfortable brand of shocks to go with, without paying a mint? I had GT Sports in my commodore and they were a bit rough.

Whats the best exhaust setup to go? Size? mufflers? Extractors/cat?

Are K&N Filters worth their price?

1 Piece or 2 Piece Parras?

Cheers dudes! ill add more if i get any

$400 to $600 is a very reasonable price for lowered springs
I went superlows and have regretted it since so il be changing to lows
Stay away from pedders IMO
Boge and king are highly recommended here as brands

Not sure about the exhaust yet

And i have been very happy with my K&N panel filter but there are conflicting opinions

Well, 400-500 is only reasonable if you're getting the springs installed.

By themselves they're $240 for all four corners. It can be DIY to save on cost as many NSW members have done including me.

Shocks will be around 500-600 for a full set.

I'm running Lovell Superlows with Boge Shocks - All DIY.

Most comfrotable shock/spring combo while still being lowered would probably be King Lows with Boges...

Don't expect ride comfort to be kept after lowering though.

For a low cost upgrade, you could consider the factory Sports/VRX muffler fitted to the Magna's. A fairly large muffler, it will keep the noise down while giving you a performance advantage over the (restricted) standard Magna muffler. Wreckers would be a good bet for one of these. From experience, fitting a smaller performance muffler to a factory 4 speed auto = annoyingly loud car.

money im not too fussed with. Would rather do everything properly. A fellow i know who does exhausts would probably do everything custom, just want to know what diameters, muffler positions etc.

Low or superlows (comparrison shots please) Lows are the best, SL will bottom out and stop your suspension travel
What brand of springs? Kings or Dobinsons, $260 for a set of Kings front and rear, $280 for Dobinsons Front and Rear
Whats the most comfortable brand of shocks to go with, without paying a mint? I had GT Sports in my commodore and they were a bit rough. TO work with the springs the Boge, $540 for a set of 4

Whats the best exhaust setup to go? Size? mufflers? Extractors/cat? HM Headers if you really must, the stock engine pipe are good on these anyway, mufflers either sports or VRX one will be nice with no drone

Are K&N Filters worth their price? Put simply NO, they clog, take away a few KW (proven on dyno) and if you want to replace your filter even every 6 months they are not expensive if you know where to get them lol

1 Piece or 2 Piece Parras? Personal choice, I prefer the glass 2pc as they are stronger and do not haze up like plastic, $275 for a pair including postage or $250 if Neo can bring them back with him lol

Cheers dudes! ill add more if i get any

If you are looking to improve handling, how about fitting a upgraded rear sway bar? Might be a step in the right direction if you're going to fit firmer springs. Whiteline make a 22mm version, larger than the factory std.
