My car's dual fuel, when it's on gas I get a check engine light, only on gas not petrol. I checked the codes and it's for the injectors. Is it just showing because it's something that has been added to the engine after manufacturing, that the car doesn't recognize, or could it be a real problem?

the installer didnt fit an injector load simulator so when the engine is switched to gas the gas system cuts power to the injectors triggering the code

Or perhaps its not connected properly, im mean surely he had to fit it? its not something that's optional is it? or maybe its malfunctioning

i've seen plenty of cars that the installer has considered the simulator to be an optional extra.... but yeah it could also be faulty

Thanks for that. It's a really old system (installed by APA in '95) so maybe it's before injector load simulators? I need to take it in for a checkup though, because I'm not sure whether it has been in for it's ten year safety check or not, is there any way to find out? Like, would they mark the system or something if it has?
