Hey guys i got a 2004 Mitsubishi TL VRX and i heard that swapping a set of 380 Cams really does help can anyone tell me if this is worth it and how much power i would be gaining? and what kind of money i would be looking at for buying + installment with tune cheers Chris.

Mail Order tune from SKR is $350, cams can be found for $250 for the pair, installation could be about $150-300 depending on who you get to do the install. If you have a full exhaust done with manual, you can expect maybe 150fwkW.
Use the search button, there are plenty of threads about this.

Its an auto 5 speed and the only exhaust parts i have done is Mercury Muffler, Resonator has been taken off and replaced with piping and ordered a set of Hurricane extractors

Fitting of cams for $150 - 250 bucks, tell them they are dreaming. Lets be realistic if we are quoting prices. Remove belts, remove timing belt covers, lock tensioner, releast belt. Then, remove upper manifold. Remove Dist and water cross over pipe, remove battery, battery tray and battery support. Remove rocker covers, remove rocker gear then reverse everything. Now I have left out the little things like coolant, hoses, wiring etc etc so add to that as much as you want to
Cams for $250, please get me a set or 2 as most on the forums go for around the $350+ mark and last a day or 2 at best.
Now as for the question at hand, yes they do make a good change, they seem to go well with the 5so auto as well, get SKR to do the tune and you will be very impressed. Tell Steve what you have done to the car and he will set you up with a good tune

There's a 380 sitting in the salisbury wreckers :) Just use the heads and do a reset on the ECU I know somebody who did this, work well :D
Using 380 heads lowers the CR and will have a negative effect unless you're boosting.

On the contrary, with the 380 heads and injectors on my KJ2 AWD ex-KJ2 AWD, it has much more power and can really move off quick. doddksi witnessed it for himself first hand.
He has a KL AWD and he can tell the difference. The KJ2 AWD was always a slug with the default 3.5 heads and injectors.
Just my POV through my observations and that of a few other AMC members.

air intake is a waste of time and money. so are injectorss unless you want to get .0lL/100km. if you are getting the cams, extractors and mufflers make sure you tell skr that you have these and get him to tune it specificallly. but it is always better to do it in person. bang for buck mod is a 3.8L conversion with a manual tranmission and free flow exhaust. depending on what stock mitsfix has, and if you do it yourself, then it can be done reasonably cheaply, with better gains and more room for gains than mucking around with cams (lets face it, 700 installed + timing belt) reflash (400) injectors (400). all this would put you about the same as a manual vrx. with the 380 motor and manual trans, i have no doubt that it would beat a ralliat down the quater, and most likely at the fuel pump.
it might not be up your alley though.

best advice ever ! ! !!
380 cams made a good difference for me revs out so much better. well worth the mod tune on its way and hopefully low 14s with good traction
