Hey guys,

I've been driving my KF XI on only one light for ages because my passenger side headlight connection appears to be stuffed. It's not a matter of a typical loose connection because i can jam the connector all the way into the socket and it stays put but the light just won't come on. The only way i can get the sob to work is to jiggle it and tilt it in all different directions and eventually she'll come on. It's so precarious however that within a few minutes driving it'll turn off again...

Is this a common problem? It's not my wiring as i've tried moving just the wires and that never works. Something in the connector itself seems to be bent or broken so that when inserted normally there is no connection. Only when inserted and then tilted at weird angles will it seem to work.

Most importantly, any tips on how i can fix this or where to get a replacement connector?

Chop one off a headlight loom at the wreckers and cut yours off with enough wire to be able to solder it on.

Take the globe out and give it a good shake, then look at the filament. Probably broken and only just touching, had a tail light globe do that.

If it is the socket, you can pull it apart and plug the leads straight to the globe, you can be sure you have a good connection then.

Thanks for reply TJ_flame, i thought that may have been the case already and had swapped out the globes to test. Same problem only on passenger side so i know it can't be the globe.

When you say plug straight into globe, you mean connect the wires directly into the male terminals right? Wouldn't that require soldering? If i can do it in a way which doesn't eff up the male part of the connector then i think thats the way to go. I'll just get rid of the female connector and wire it up directly. I don't want to damage the male part if i can avoid it though.
