Hey all got another question for you! Can you colour code the rear bar in the TR series? If so what would be the best way of doing it? Sandblasting and then filling and painting or what?

Im looking seriously at doing the body kit first on the wagon and Im not sure what the best method would be.

If you don't know what your doing I would recommend going to a painter. Nothing worse than a **** looking rear bar ;).

But if your still keen (heres how I would do it -- please any painters correct me if I am wrong):
1. Clean clean clean,
2. Mask off any areas you don't want paint on,
3. Give it a 'quick' spray with plastic primer (its a clear primer),
4. Mix your sourced 2pac paint at 2-1 ratio with a hardener,
5. Start spraying

Without an oven it will need heaps of time to dry. You could paint it on the car, but it may be easier to remove it.

I would still take it to a proessional thou.

I did mine myself.
i took the bumpers off, then got the good old sand paper out, and went the hackers till i got all the paint off (80grit sandpaper)......then got a finer grade sand paper 320 or so and smoothened out all the scratches.
Gave the bar a good clean with some liquid sugar soap, then some metho. Got a Can of Plasti-Prime (grey colour) gave 2-3 coats of that. You want a flexible Primer as bumpers do move around and u dont want it cracking. Then got spray putty and applied where necessary, in my case.....everywhere. allowed that to dry as per directions on the can.
Sanded it back with 320grit sandpaper to a nice smooth finish. Sealed this with 2 coats of the same Plasti-Prime as earlier. Then applied paint.(If u've never spray painted anything before, i suggest u get some practise before u do this, or get someone else to do it) 5-6 light coats of this, and then the same for the Clear top coat.
Allowed for about 24hours.....then got some cut and polish out and done a light cut to get a nice shine.
Put bumpers back on and yeh.....thats it really. Ended up costing $100 all up for everything for the front and back bumper.

LOL Me do it HELL NO! Im a computer technician not a painter! I will be taking it to get done professionally but I like to have an idea what is required before I get there so that I can talk to the professional and express what I want out of the job.

See I never thought that I would need more flexible products for the movement thats shy Im asking the questions!

Thanks to you both for the reply you have been a great help.
