Hi guys, if anyone can help i have 2 questions about my TS 2.6.
i have replaced a cracked head, started it up and and it ran like crap, badly missfiring' I checked everything i know, distribuor position, compression ,spark, fuel, seemed ok. I got a mechanic to look at it and he said the only thing it could be was that the chain has skipped a tooth on the crank sprocket. Excuse my ignorance but if the crank is at no 1 TDC timing mark and cam shaft sprocket locating dowel is perfectly aligned with the top of the camshaft can it still be out a tooth on the crank sprocket? ( I turned it over manually many times and still all marks lined up)Nothing moved during instalation
Question 2. If this is the problem can any one tell me the procedure for removing the timing case cover and what has to be removed to check it out.
Any help appreciated

with everything lined up as above
the car should run smooth

just check again this please

the dissy may be one tooth out
not letting it advance or is too retarded

just check the brass metal part of the dissy rotor
is just before the number one plug

so it sparks as it passes tdc

you have the firing order right for it to run

to take the timing cover off with the motor in
requires a lot of work with the right tools

remove
engine mounts
powersteering pump /alt/ air conand bracket / timing pully
you can buy the gasket set from repco
