OK I am interested in everyones opinion on this. Do you think this is do able? KIF says he did it whilst going from Syd to Albury and return whilst on red P's doing 90 kph and on cruise.

Now, another thing to note is that Kif doesn't just fill the tank. He also fills the neck... Until it gets to the point where fuel overflows.

I voted No way, your trip computer might come close, but doing it the old fashioned way, Km's travelled to Litres used at the pump, I reckon you fall .6 to .8 litres short of your goal.

Good luck tho. I also believe you'll have a better chance if you don't use Cruise Control.

BTW

Does this hurt the system, charcoal breather systems (WTF) or anything else I don't really know anything about.

He still hasn't produced how much fuel he actually used so that we can work out the actual L/100km. I have based it, therefore, one the 67 Litres as per spec.

Might as well re-title the thread and poll to truly reflect what (it seems) you're really asking..."Is Kif a liar?"

I believe it. Done the same with a TJ 3.5L, not over 1,000 km though. Would be a very boring trip.

Kif is not the sort of person who would lie just to claim some boasting rights, he is one of the few people here who doesn't feel the need to boast. lol

Just checking on this as I am unsure,
Is it accurate to say, the instant fuel use/KM does not calculate at idle, If this is correct, It raises the Question, is this Instant Fuel Use information used to calculate the Average????

:ninja:
:hmm:

Really don't think it matters when you fill a car and then drive it until it runs out of fuel, then check distance travelled.

OK, I believe him.

I think I could get a very good fuel burn (aviation speak, guys ;) ) at 90kph, probably around 7L/100kmh and I'm willing to try but he had the advantage of a single trip.

I have entered what you have said in to the computer and the answer it has given me is that extra fuel = extra weight not better avg consumption :P

I believe its possible, I got my car down to 5.4L/100km on a single trip to Sunshine Coast to Armidale Didn't stop once the whole way, and sat at 90km/h on cruise. Barely any traffic, and when someone did catch up to us, there was always plenty of room for them to overtake so I didn't feel the need to speed up.

Still don't beleive it, Kif too excitable behind a wheel, if he was assisted by a few Downers, then sure!

If its when the car was stock, then he wouldnt have had any PPHHAATT (forgot which letters are doubled lol) BEATS to hype him up ;)

This.

We're all big kids here, I'm sure we can each make up our minds without needing a separate topic and poll.
