Doable or not?
just would be cool to have :) Seems like it should be workable with a tippy gearbox in my head, but it is also 11:16pm.
The tippy gear lever has some micro switches under the covers.
It wouldn't be hard to move or duplicate the switches but if you wanted them attached to the steering wheel, you'll have to overcome the ?? 4 ?? turns the steering wheel is capable of.
I think I've seen a guide here on swapping the switches - could be some helpful details in there if you go ahead with the idea.

I had the idea myself of paddle shifting - it would be easy enough to make it work in theory off the microswitches in the selector.
the problem that we have - is the paddles - and how to get the signal (shift up / down) from the paddle to the microswitches...
Our clock springs do not have enough space in them to accomodate additional functions unfort - so we would have to go with paddles mounted to the steering wheel surround (you dont want metres of cable being turned over and over again by turning the wheel - unless you want to cause an accident when it gets caught?)
The issue with tiller mounted paddles - is space - there isnt much between the back of the wheel and the indicator stalks etc.
Then there is also the problem OF the paddles - mounting them - sourcing them / where to get them / which brand etc etc etc) - runing the wires to the switches (that would be the easy part really)
I think outlanders have paddleshift? but is it mounted on the wheel - of the colum (turns or doesnt turn with the wheel?)
I thought long and hard about it - it would doable I am sure - but I gave up before spending any cash on it! LOL!

Before you read this, I am serious.
Instead of paddels, could you use little buttons like they used for the NO2 in FF? And put them on the back of the wheel spokes perhaps?
Use the little buttons instead of the microswitches, and use a steering wheel with audio controls, use the wires to and from the wheel mounted audio controls for the shifter buttons instead since its hard to get the wheel audio controls to work with aftermarket head units anyway?

Just get an Evo GT-A steering wheel and be done with it.

Being a stickler, it's N2O lol
Get a 380 steering wheel and repurpose the rear audio control buttons.
Or, get some CJ Lancer paddle shifters. They are static position mounted behind the steering wheel.

Is not the mounting that causes the issue is getting the wiring to turn without snapping as clocknspring has no spare
380 wheel is fine if you dont mind one side up and one down
I am working on getting my 380 wheel to have both buttons do both functions
